Mazda serves up their popular Mazda3 in a variety of different flavours. At writing, both sedan and hatchback configurations are available, with the sedan dubbed Mazda3, and the hatch called the Mazda3 Sport.

Two naturally-aspirated engines are available. Shoppers can select between manual or automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (AWD) across much of the model range, too.

If that's not selection enough, the just-launched Skyactiv Turbo engine in my tester makes 3 engine choices to choose from.

So: pick sedan or hatch, choose an engine, choose automatic or manual, and choose front- or four-wheel drive. There's selection galore, and my 3 Sport GT Turbo tester slotted in at the top of the line. With the included Premium Package clocking in at $1,700, this is a $38,000 version of Mazda's entry-level car.
